Quicksand Years is an exploration into repetitive, developing sound structures. As with our lives, cyclical patterns provide a mechanism for forward motion and inherent erosion of the past.

This is an album best appreciated in the still hours.

The album was compiled from live recordings in the studio over 2021-2022. Minimal mastering was applied to the live mixes. Instrumentation consists of various modular synthesizers, effects pedals, recorded material, and a homemade gong resonator speaker similar to the Ondes Martenot Diffuseur Métallique.

About the artist:

Exploring the divide between electronic music and organic timbres, Egghead9 seeks warmth from the friction between analog voltage signals and digital bits. Through this apparent incongruity, a sonic tapestry emerges; a living present tied inseparably to both past and future.

Focused on ambient and experimental electronic sound forms, Egghead9 leaves many stones unturned in across vast sonic zen garden; raking a singular path, as if in response to unconscious premonition. Untethered to convention, but molded by experience; charting a path undetermined, yet bounded by the familiar and unmoved.
